Understanding Win Rate
Win rate is the percentage of trades that end in profit. While a high win rate feels good psychologically, it's not the only factor in trading profitability. A trader with a 40% win rate can still be profitable if their winners are significantly larger than their losers.
The key is to combine win rate with risk/reward ratio. A lower win rate requires a higher risk/reward ratio to be profitable, while a higher win rate allows for a lower risk/reward ratio.
